Try the Designer

Edit a design inside its Print Area

A simplified studio showing how layers, history, views, sizes and workspace modes behave. Placement stays relative to the Print Area when the size changes.

The Problem

Customization that respects how products are made

Most design tools were built for screens. Printed products have boundaries, physical sizes and multiple surfaces, and the editor needs to understand all three.

  • Challenge: Generic design tools ignore production constraints.

With Printzoe: Every element belongs to a Print Area with physical dimensions, and content is clipped to that boundary on the canvas.

  • Challenge: Customers cannot understand printable boundaries.

With Printzoe: Labelled Print Area guides, live millimetre measurements and Print Surface mode show exactly where printing is possible.

  • Challenge: Different products require different controls.

With Printzoe: Views, sizes, colors, option groups and Print Areas come from each product’s configuration rather than a single fixed layout.

  • Challenge: Mobile design experiences are often difficult.

With Printzoe: The Designer adapts its layout to small screens, moving tools into a bottom sheet while keeping the canvas in view.

  • Challenge: Artwork arrives disconnected from order information.

With Printzoe: Designs are structured by view and Print Area from the start, so the product context travels with the design.

  • Challenge: Product previews and print dimensions can become inconsistent.

With Printzoe: Placement is normalized to the Print Area, so zooming, screen size and preview mode never change printed dimensions.

How It Works

From product page to a saved design

What happens inside the Designer from the moment a customer starts.

  1. Product selected

The product opens with its configured views, sizes, colors and Print Areas.

  2. View and size resolved

The active view and size determine which Print Areas apply.

  3. Print Area activated

The selected Print Area shows its labelled boundary and physical dimensions.

  4. Customer adds design content

Text is added, styled and positioned, and kept within the Print Area.

  5. Product preview updates

The canvas reflects every change; Print Surface mode shows the flat printable area.

  6. Design is saved

Work is saved automatically in the browser and recovered after a reload.

  7. Design can be shared or submittedIn development

Sharing for review and submission to Printzoe Admin follow the saved design.

What a production-aware designer changes

  • Better customer confidence

Customers see boundaries and measurements while they design, not after.

  • Fewer placement misunderstandings

Guides and Print Surface mode make the printable area explicit.

  • More consistent design data

Every design is structured by view and Print Area in the same way.

  • Easier mobile customization

A layout built for small screens keeps editing practical on phones.

  • Faster transition into review

Designs arrive ready for review because product context is already attached.

Implementation

Preparing the Designer for your products

A Designer rollout is mostly product preparation. These decisions shape the experience.

The Designer currently focuses on text-based personalization. Image upload, shapes and production file export are in development.

Plan a Designer rollout
  1. Product definitions

Views, sizes and Print Areas with physical dimensions are defined for each product.

  2. Brand and theming

Brand name, colors and interface tokens are applied through theme configuration.

  3. Font catalog

Fonts are agreed and licensed for both web display and print output.

  4. Deployment and licensing

The Designer runs on licensed domains; placement in your storefront is agreed up front.
